Introduction

Part of the University of Westminster Wigram House is a late Victorian mansion block, which has retained many of its original architectural features.  It is located in the heart of London, walking distance from Buckingham Palace and the Royal Parks, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

The Hall offers single and twin rooms, all with washbasins and shared facilities at a ratio of about one to six. Fully carpeted, the rooms are arranged in traditional hotel style around pods of bathrooms, showers and WCs, which are never far from your bedroom.  There are three fully equipped kitchens on each floor for self-catering.

Food and Drinks

There are cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery in every kitchen for your use. Please wash up and return borrowed items when you have finished using them.

There is a wide variety of restaurants in Victoria, offering local and international cuisines. In the local area, there are numerous cafés and bakeries selling freshly made foods and pastries. There is also a daily street market, until about 3pm.

Other facilities

There is a coin-operated launderette on the ground floor, with irons and ironing boards. Detergent and other laundry products can be purchased from local shops.

There is a common room on the ground floor with a television for your use and enjoyment.

, August 2012: We had a great time there, good price and position. Ideal for those not used to travel abroad! 4/5

, August 2012: Very comfortable and convenient. 4/5

, August 2012: Very good value for money, simple clean accommodation for our trip to the Hyde Park closing concert. Perfect location. Only real issue is that it's so noisy! Very warm so had to leave window open and although I appreciate central London is noisy (I live in a city myself) it was quite difficult to sleep with that and the noise of the floorboards creaking! Second level window to reduce noise (I assume you couldn't have double glazing in that area) and some work on the floorboards would be great. But at that price I guess I can't argue! : ) 4/5

, August 2012: Great location 5/5

, July 2012: To be honest, we didn't really have the time to use the facilities on offer, apart from sleeping in our room. The beds were really comfortable and the pillows/bedding too. Everything was clean and Mohammed (sorry if the spelling is a variation) at reception was very friendly. We would definitely recommend staying at Wigram House and hope to return. Thank you. 4/5

, June 2012: Staff at Wigram were courteous, friendly and helpful. The rooms were simple, clean, spartan, exactly as we expected. The location was excellent. All in all a very positive experience, thank you! 5/5

, June 2012: In terms of value for money, given where Wigram House is located this was always going to be excellent. However, what made our stay really stand out was the staff. The two staff, we met during our stay couldnt be more helpful and friendly. They genuinely wanted to make our stay worthwhile - which they did. Thanks so much to them. Will return hopefully soon and recommend it to anyone wishing to visit London on a budget. 4/5
