Introduction

The Residencia Universitaria Cardenal Cisneros is located in the World Heritage city of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), within the Campus of Escuela Universitaria Cardenal Cisneros. The complex is generally aimed at students, professors and researchers, as well as other individuals, who need to spend time in Alcalá for reasons of work or study. There are also a number of rooms set aside for a general hotel service, mostly during the summer months, welcoming any visitors to the city.

The residence is mixed, however, it does offer separate areas specifically for men and women if necessary. There are a total of 101 places, mostly in single rooms, each one with Internet and telephone. Rooms are cleaned regularly during the academic year and guests can also choose to dine in the cafeteria. The complex also offers a library, gym and conference and meetings facilities.

Food and Drinks

For bookings of over a month, guests can choose to include all meals in the price of the room, or for shorter stays, to use the cafeteria meal tickets as and when required. These can be obtained at reception.

Grounds and gardens

The residence is designed for students, generally staying for continuous periods of time, and enjoys a fortunate location next to the campus of the Universidad de Alcalá. It is very well linked with all faculties and schools, as well as the city centre, providing an excellent environment for both visitors and students who spend a lot of time away from home. With various gardens and parks around the residence, as well as a swimming pool and sports centre, it is an excellent base for anyone visiting the city.

Each room is equipped with Internet access and telephone, which is linked to the building’s central line. Incoming calls, as well as calls between rooms, are free. For outgoing calls, guests need to purchase a prepaid amount of credit (with a minimum of €10).

Each room has a TV connection (Ed Cataluña), however, televisions themselves are not provided.

Arriving from Madrid

By train: from the Chamartín, Nuevos Ministerios, Recoletos and Atocha stations there are regular trains for Alcalá (line C2, Chamartín-Guadalajara). The train station in Alcalá is located around 15 minutes’ walk from the residence.

By bus: buses leave regularly from the Avenida de América interchange. Route 320 will take you directly to the front gate of the residence.

By car: take the N-II motorway, connecting Madrid and Barcelona, and take the Meco, Alcalá de Henares (Hospital Universitario) exit, located on Km 31.7, near the Plaza de Toros.
