Introduction

The Jaime del Amo Residence is situated in the main university district of Madrid. The building was completely renewed during the academic year of 2009-2010 and now having much improved services and facilities (swimming pool, sports facilities, library, meeting and conference rooms, chapel).

Located in the heart of Madrid (20 minutes’ walk from the city centre and a 2 minute walk to the nearest metro station), the residence is surrounded with trees and gardens which, along with the swimming pool, provide an ideal environment for both studying and rest.

During the academic year this is a masculine student residence, however, we will gladly accommodate any guests that wish to stay here.

Food and Drinks

Both near the residence and in the whole of Madrid you will very easily find restaurants and other places where you can enjoy typical Spanish cuisine. On the premises, the dining hall serves home-made, simply but very appetising meals, qhich represent some of the best culinary traditions.

Self-service breakfast is included in your stay. If you wish to include lunch or dinner in your stay you will need to request this at reception on arrival and pay the set tariffs.

There is also a cafeteria which is open afternoons and evenings, as well as several vending machines selling cold drinks and snacks.

Grounds and gardens

Although the residence is very close to the centre of Madrid and 2 minutes’ walk from the nearest metro station, it is in an ideal location: surrounded by trees and in an area where there is much more parkland than there is buildings. There are a lot of beautiful walks that you can take. The swimming pool is situated in a nice garden where you can get some peace and quiet from the noisy city.

Other facilities

All guests staying at the residence can use the pool as well as other public areas: there are study rooms, meetings and conference rooms (we will need to know in advance if you need to use these), and a common room with television and newspapers. There is WiFi Internet connection throughout the residence and individual internet access in all rooms via RJ45 etherhet cable (we do not supply these).

How to find us:

By metro: Station "Metropolitano" (line 6). Exit onto "Avenida Gregorio del Amo", go down the street for about 100 metres and the residence building will be on the left hand side.

By bus: "Circular" line; bus-stop at the Plaza del Marqués de Comillas. Look for Avenida Gregorio del Amo and go down the street for about 300 metres until you come to the residence building on your left hand side.

By car: From Moncloa, look for Avenida Complutense. At the first roundabout take the right onto José Antonio Novais and keep following it. The third street on the left is the Avenida Gregorio del Amo. The first building on the right hand side is the Jaime del Amo residence.
